Airtel Digital TV Launches 3D-ready HD DVR

Bharti Airtel has just launched a new HD DVR (Digital Video Recorder) set-top box for its DTH TV (Direct-to-Home Television) customers. The HD DVR is capable of recording high definition AV content of up to 550 hours, which is a lot and it is capable of receiving 3D signals as well.

The HD DVR allows you to Pause, Record, Rewind, as well as give you the options of multiple viewing/recording, disk management, advanced search as well as time-shifting. A cool new feature lets you schedule recording via your mobile phone, so you can record your favorite TV shows even while you are not home and then watch the recorded show when you return home. As was the case with the previous generation HD DVR, the set-top box has Digital Dolby Plus 7.1 surround sound output capability.

With a free HDMI cable to hook up to your HDTV, the 3D-capable Airtel HD DVR is available at Rs. 4,490 for new subscribers, but existing subscribers can get it for Rs. 3,990. For the record, Videocon introduced the first 3D HD DVR set-top box along with its 3D DTH service in India in the middle of March this year, but Airtel does not have 3D channels at present.(
